95 years ago the first world war ended. In London a famous artist by the name of Bud Fisher was with the Canadian Forces. We from the Platinum Age First World War Research Group already discovered his connection with the great war (besides book 5 Mutt and Jeff in the trenches) Well, have a look at the-first-world-war-according-to-Jeff.
Here however is an even more historical piece. A Bud Fisher drawing of Lt Ed Sapp who send the letter home. It say's
'WAR'S OVER !'
GI - SOLDIER - DOUGHBOY DRAWING
of LT. ED SAPP (possibly from Marion Kentucky)
See sheet Ed sent with drawing back home
in which the Army Quartermaster blotted out
the location where the piece was sent from.
Ed states that the sketch is of Lieut Sapp taken
after seven month siege of ________.
This piece touts the end of the war and is signed by the artist! The history of the Platinum age in one drawing! Members of the research group can soon drool over the original that was acquired for a large amount of money on an Auction.
